Dallas and Austin Vega have been playing golf nearly as long as they could walk, and have been participants with SCGA Junior for almost that whole time. They are frequent attendees of any and all events and love seeing their friends every time they come to the course. Their coaches enjoy working with them because of their dedication to golf and their great attitudes.
How long have you been golfing with SCGA Junior?
D: I started when I was four years old and have been with SCGA Junior for nine years.
A: I’ve been with SCGA Junior for six years, ever since I was six years old.
What is your favorite golf course?
D: My favorite course is California CC because I really enjoyed the food there.
A: My favorite course is Don Knabe GC because I can practice my short game on many holes and my long game on some of the others.
What is your favorite part about playing golf and why?
D: I love to socialize so my favorite part of playing golf is meeting new friends and seeing my friends and coaches.
A: My favorite part of playing golf is getting to hang out with my buddies and go play different courses with them. I also love getting to make new friends.
What is your favorite SCGA Junior memory?
D: I almost made a hole in one during a Game Day at Pico Rivera GC and everyone was so excited, including Coach Andrew and he was on the mic yelling my name.
A: I got to participate in a photo shoot for FORE Magazine for a story about SCGA Junior.
Favorite golfer or athlete?
D: Tiger Woods because he made golf popular. Without him I wouldn’t be playing.
A: Ezekiel Elliot because he’s fast and can jump over people.
Other hobbies?
Both boys enjoy playing and watching other sports and are artists. Dallas’ art has been featured in a City of Whittier project on light poles and Austin is a photographer who has won first place in a school contest.
