Tiger Woods hosted the inaugural TGR Jr. Invitational at Pebble Beach GL in October. With more than 600 applications submitted by junior golfers, 60 were selected to play based on their achievements both on and beyond the course. 13 of the 60 invited were SCGA Junior members.
Not only did the experience resemble that of a professional golf tournament, participants were outfitted with TaylorMade gear, gifted Nike apparel and treated to an interactive Q&A session with Woods during the invitational’s dinner.
After 27 qualifying holes at The Hay, juniors Vince Arciaga and Lily Morua qualified to play in the championship matches at The Links at Spanish Bay on the final day. Vince went on to win his match 3&2 to take home the Boys 10-12 Division trophy, while Lily finished with a 2&1 victory to capture the Girls 13-15 Division title.
