When the SCGA Team Play group, including Lakewood GC, South Bay Public Links and Brookside GC, learned that SCGA Junior Ariana Perez was one of only 12 girls nationally (and the only one from California) invited to the Scotland Junior Golf Invitational and heard she was using her high school graduation gift to fund the trip, they knew Ariana was special. Inspired by her commitment to golf, these members took the initiative and helped Ariana raise the remaining funds to get her to Scotland.
On Saturday, February 24, Ariana attended the final team play match of the season at Brookside GC to get to know the members, reflect on her time as a junior golfer and share her goals to continue playing golf and serve her country at West Point Academy.
Ariana raised over $1,500 and will now be able to attend the Scotland Invitational in June. She will be part of a U.S. junior team competing and playing six rounds at storied courses in the St. Andrews area.
Ariana, a long-time SCGA Junior participant, will also compete in the Gold Tour Series powered by Lionsgate later this year. Good luck to Ariana in her future endeavors, and thank you again to the SCGA Team Play group members for supporting a junior golfer’s dream!
